Representatives from clubs and organisations in Kirklees are invited to the latest Everybody Active Sport and Physical Activity Conference which will be held in the Waterloo Suite at Lockwood Park. It will include a keynote speech from Julia Lee, the first female qualified men's rugby league referee. Julia will share her experiences, including delivering a £29 million Sport England funding award and why she is passionate about the benefits of physical activity. The evening will provide a great opportunity to network, learn and work closer together. There will be workshops on funding, inclusion and volunteers.

The evening will start with a keynote from Julia Lee, who was the first female qualified men's rugby league referee in Great Britain and Australia. She was a Director at the Rugby Football League for over 20 years in a variety of roles, successful securing and delivering a £29 million Sport England Award.

She is passionate about making positive differences by sharing her experiences, achievements and learning to help influence and encourage others to achieve their potential. She believes that being active can have a positive effect on mental health and well-being and wants to help remove barriers so people can lead happy and healthier lives.

The evening will include a presentation on funding and fundraising opportunities and workshops on how to make your club/group more inclusive and volunteer recruitment and retention.

Registration is from 6 pm with buffet also available. The conference will start at 6.30pm.
