Gareth Lewis has called for his Huddersfield side to be “ruthless’ on Saturday when a seemingly Midlands Premier-bound South Leicester make the journey to West Yorkshire.

The Head Coach’s side are on the back of a huge away win at Tynedale, sealed in the last minute by Chris Johnson’s boot, and with their losing run stopped in its tracks, a bit of score-settling is on the agenda.

“Saturday is about kicking on from last week’s performance.

“Obviously, we are aware of South Leicester’s league position but we will not be taking them lightly.

“The defeat down there earlier in the season is still fresh in the memory and we must be ruthless on Saturday.”

South stunned a weakened Huddersfield with a 35-29 win in the East Midlands back in November at Welford Road, but a defeat here for them could put the relegation writing on the wall with just five games left to play, while reigniting ‘Field’s chances of a top-two berth.

Without a win since January, South have been shipping points regularly. Their past three games have seen a concession of 59 points each time against ‘Field’s promotion rivals Fylde, Chester and Hull.

866 is the grand total of points scored against South Leicester this season, averaging 34 points against per game. However, one of their three wins this term was against ‘Field so they’ll be looking for a repeat.

With by far the worst defensive record in the division,  Huddersfield will be looking to fill their boots against South while the teams immediately adjacent to ‘Field in the table have tough fixtures.

Chester and Fylde go head-to-head as second plays third in Lancashire, while leaders Hull face an Otley side who will still fancy their chances of promotion, given that they have the top three all to play.

Huddersfield can call on the services of Kian Stewart on the wing as he returns, Elliot Hodgson is back in the squad but will have to settle for a bench spot.

While in the forward pack, Reuben Pollard starts as Loosehead, and Tor Borrowdale will link up at lock with his brother Guy.

Huddersfield: Tom Hodson, Kian Stewart, Lewis Workman, Will Milner, Elliot Knight, Chris Johnson, Jack Maplesden; Reuben Pollard, Ross Thornton, Alex Battye, Guy Borrowdale, Tor Borrowdale, Harry Woodhouse, Lewis Bradley, Dickie Piper(C).

Replacements: Harry Whitfield, Fran Entressengle, Adam Blades, Joe Green, Elliot Hodgson.
