The top of the table clash between Huddersfield and Wharfedale on 22nd November produced a hard fought game played between two well-disciplined teams with Huddersfield coming out emphatic winners and securing their position at the top of the Junior Colts league.

It was Wharfedale who started the better team with a kick and chase in the first 5 minutes nearly producing a try. They followed this up with a quickly taken penalty when Huddersfield were caught off side, to produce the opening try of the match.         0 – 5

Huddersfield settled into their game plan and applied pressure on the opposition which resulted in a Sam Bourouh try to level the scores just before half time.              5 – 5

Early in the second half Wharfedale missed a penalty kick at goal and when Huddersfield were awarded a penalty they took it quickly to send Isaac Griffiths over for the try which was converted by Harry Newman.                                                                                 12 – 5

Both sides played attacking rugby and produced try scoring opportunities with some great running lines requiring solid defence to prevent further scores.

Huddersfield captain Harry Woodhouse switched Griffiths to No.8 and this broke the deadlock when he picked up from the base of the scrum to burst through to score his second try again converted by Newman.                                                                       19 – 5

Huddersfield kept Wharfedale in their own quarter with strategic kicking which forced the away team to try running from deep. This resulted in a well taken interception by Newman allowing him to run in under the posts for the final try which he converted to make the final score                                                                                                                                    26 - 5
