Entry Level Referee Award (ELRA) course at Huddersfield YMCA

Published: 16/08/2012

The RFU has arranged an Entry Level Referee Award (ELRA) course at Huddersfield YMCA Rugby Club (Wed 5th & 12th Sept & Sun 23rd Sept, 6.30-9.30pm Tues & 1.00-7.00pm Sun).

You can find further information on the course here, and it is open to players, coaches, spectators, parents and referees wishing to update their qualifications. The minimum age for candidates is 14 and there is no maximum age limit!

At a full cost of £50 per head for all sessions, candidates will get a large amount of DVDs, information and other course material as well as whistles and cards on the day. Some funding is available through regional and club schemes.

This is a great opportunity to get qualified and improve referee training, coaching, playing and viewing experiences during the season. The course has a practical nature to it and deals with how to referee, as well as what to referee. (i.e. it's not just a laws test!).

You can download an application form here, or alternatively contact Will Halford, RFU Referee Development Manager (NE & Yorks) by email.

The closing dates for this course is 26th August 2012.
