Welcome to Lockwood Park

It is my very pleasant duty to welcome our Players, Members and Supporters, together with Match and League Officials, and not least our friends from the 15 clubs who will play here during the 2014-15 season in National League 2 North.

In last season's campaign, all our teams acquitted themselves admirably and the successes which we achieved can be rightly attributed to the splendid club and team spirit, which manifested itself through all our senior teams.

Our Frist XV was a worthy winner of National 3 North, bringing well-deserved promotion to National League 2 North.

Our Falcons and 'A' Team, together with our Academy all played a full season's fixtures and finished in strong positions; the 'A' Team winning their league and the Academy being Runner-up in theirs; with the Falcons also turning in a very commendable Season's results, having provided support in depth to the 1st XV. The club has always benefitted from the development of players from Age Grade through to 1st XV and this continues to be important in the Club's success.

The Age Grade section continues to flourish providing excellent training and competition for players from 7 to 17 and any Sunday morning visit will evidence the enthusiasm displayed by hundreds of youngsters together with our valued and dedicated Officials.

Our club continues to promote support to all its constituent sporting sections - rugby, hockey, squash, road running, crown green bowling, snooker, so that all members can make the best of the superb facilities which we are so fortunate in having at Lockwood Park. As with other clubs, we rely on the support we receive from our valued sponsors and advertisers and I wholeheartedly record the Club's appreciation to them all.

My designated charity is the RFU Injured Players Foundation. We all realise the importance of this organisation for those who have been unfortunate in sustaining serious injuries on the field of play. We should do all possible to assist in their recovery and re-habillitation and I hopethat we shall procure a worthwhile contribution to that fund over the year.

Hopefully, the season will once again bring success on the field, but whatever the results, I trust that rugby will continue to be played at HRUFC in the traditionally competitive but friendly spirit, where we can always enjoy a sociable pint together after the final whistle.
